Missions
Here is a quick summary of four missions which were previewed by magazines prior to release:
"Say Cheese"
Victor is looking for some etxra cash, and there is a job available at the Film Studio on Prawn Island. They are filming a commercial for chocolate and require a stuntman, so your task is to drive around the bay using a jet-ski (on a preset course) while cameramen on a helicopter above you record the footage they need. After a few spectacular jumps, the jet-ski is taken onto land, where a motorbike is waiting for you. The chase is then continued into the heart of Vice City, and at this stage the improved bike-handling becomes apparent. This mission is designed to introduce you to the city aswell as the basic features in the game.
"Jump Ship"
Lance learns that Brian Forbes - an associate of the Vance brothers - is infact an undercover cop. Lance kidnaps him and beats the hell out of him in order to extract any information which may be useful to the brothers. There is a drug deal going down by the docks where large quantities of narcotics will be present. Lance requires you to watch his back, so goto the rooftop nearby the transaction where you can use the binoculars to spy on the activities. Lance screws it up, and the drug dealer escapes on a speedboat.. along with the kidnapped Lance. There is a [rather conveniently] placed sports car nearby, which you must use in order to give chase.
"Rockstar want their missions to be less one-dimensional in VCS and monotonous tasks like 'get from A-to-B' will no longer dreg out your GTA experience. Now, the missions will be designed to be multi-tiered and split between various skill sets. The idea is to do away with the quick-shot mission structure of LCS and instead opt for longer in-depth tasks that make greater use of the environment and lend themselves to a more defined narrative."

The chase leads to a large moored tanker. Victor gains speed and hits a ramp, which sends him up and over the boat - bailing the vehicle in mid-flight - to leave him standing on the deck, uzi in hand and ready to fight. You must make your way into the ship's interior and down into the cargo hold, where Lance is being held. Kill off any attackers before escaping (with Lance) on a motorbike.
"Taking the Fall"
This mission is very similar to GTA: Vice City's "Phnom Penh '86", which involves you shooting from a helicopter while Lance controls it. This time, however, your role is reversed - Lance is now the shootist and you are the pilot.
Lance has some issues with a local biker gang, so your aim is to track them down and hold the chopper steady while Lance takes them out. You then must make your way to the construction site to finish them off, but bizarrely Lance finds himself down on the ground, surrounded by a group of biker thugs. Now you must get yourself on the ground and fight your way through to Lance, and rescue him to complete the mission.
"Turn On, Tune In, Bug Out"
This mission begins at the Vance household. You must purchase a rocket launcher and take out the recievers at the cop shops across town. This mission involves heavy explosions, car sections, helicopter flights and rooftop battles - it has it all.
